Letter From the Editor: Passing on the Torch

June 25, 2020 | Filed under: Anna Williams and tagged with: Anna Williams, blog management, contributors, managing editor, national blog, volunteers

It’s been my pleasure to be the managing editor of The Editors’ Weekly since 2013, when the blog was just a year old. This month I’ll be stepping down from the position and handing the reins over to Lucy Payette. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited to see what the next phase of The Editors’ Weekly brings.

I first joined Editors Canada in 2007 and volunteered in several smaller roles before starting as the managing editor. Taking on this more prominent role for the national blog was a fantastic opportunity. Over the years I learned new skills, networked with other communications professionals and connected closely with the Editors Canada community. The greatest pleasure has been in collaborating with so many talented colleagues. I hope our readers have enjoyed the journey as much as I have.

Thank you to everyone who has written blog posts and to everyone who reads them. You make the blog a success!

Sincerest thanks, Anna, for all you have done for the blog and the association. As a reader and contributor, I applaud all the (often invisible) ways in which you’ve made this blog a robust and varied publication. You have been the best and kindest of editors to work with, and your vision and dedication are second to none.
